SM31EL Description

Banner Engineering SM31EL is a photo-electric fiber optic sensor designed for through-beam system applications with opposed mode potentiometer adjustment. This sensor, part of the SM312 series, features a thermoplastic housing with an acrylic lens. It is pre-wired with a 6.5ft / 2m cable that terminates with bare end flying leads. The SM31EL operates on a supply voltage range of 10Vdc to 30Vdc, with nominal voltages of 12Vdc and 24Vdc. It is designed for M18 threaded mount installation and can operate in ambient air temperatures ranging from -20 to +70 degrees Celsius. This sensor offers a high degree of protection, rated at IP67 and compliant with multiple NEMA standards, including 1, 2, 3, 3S, 4, 4X, 6, and 12. It has a rectangular shape, can sense objects up to 30 meters away, utilizes infrared light, and has a response time of 1ms / 0.001 s.
